Marju Bormeister

Firstborn child of artists Magda and Märt Bormeister. Has worked as a kindergarten teacher, secretary, photo technician and painted decorations after Fritz Matt’s, Aimee Und’s and Tõnu Virve’s designs. As a painter and pedagogue is a member of Estonian Artist’s Association (EAA) and Estonian Painter’s Association.

Her paintings and other work is created in a comfortable home-studio. Marju’s favorite motives are nature and its soil structure. However, the artist is probably best known by her proud peacocks and birds which resemble and assimilate with remarkably humanlike emotions and states of mind. She is also known for her oilpaintings and monotypes from which the latter can be tried out and put to practice in her workshop.
